Description
Misty's physique retains a lot of wolfish characteristics. Her tails are longer than a wolf's but shorter than a ferret's. Her muzzle is a little blunter, her ears have a rounded quality to them and her nose is pink, but her teeth are still canine. She has a piercing through her tongue and also a horizontal through her right nipple and a vertical through her left. The tongue is a standard silver barbell while the nipples are purple (R) and black (L). Misty also has two tattoos on her body. One is a ferret paw on her lower abdomen on the left side, and the other is a wolf paw just above her right buttock. Both are solid black in colour. Her markings are solidly based on ferret markings with a little wolf thrown in. She has a dorsal stripe starting from her forehead and running down her spine. The stripe breaks apart, one following down her butt and between her legs, finishing around the front at her pubic fur, and the other following down her tails to circle around in a ring on both of them. She has long socks on all four limbs that start high and go to her fingertips and toes. These are broken up with fingerless gloves and toeless socks on her hands and feet. She has a lighter face and belly as well as the inside of her ears, tailtips and the aforementioned gloves and socks. Her face is also adorned with the standard ferret facemask, not to be mistaken for a raccoon.
Development
MistyStriker was created in the year 2000. She began as a black tiger with white stripes, tattered blue clothing, a golden cape, and scars across her belly. Oh yes, and she only had one tail. In 2001 I drew myself as a depressed and lonely brown wolf with a grey tail tip, and she officially became my fursona. In 2003, I grew bored of Misty being such a generic wolf character and decided to change her appearance a bit to make her more unique. I was inspired by AndyFox for the two-tail idea, Furcadia for the triwings, and my own desire for a tattoo of some sort. Thus she became a two-tailed, tattooed, mini-winged, PillowBlaster-weilding timber wolf.
In May 2004, Misty evolved yet again. This time for the better, as she represented the real me with a lot more depth and detail. Her clothing was actual stuff that I owned and wore. She no longer had a tattoo or wings mainly because of personal preference, and I changed her colour scheme.
But as always, people change and so did I. As much as people have known me as a wolf for 5 years, I decided to do something drastic in August 2006. I changed her species. She's still part wolf, as I know I'm too canine to deny it, but I've also mixed her with a ferret. Ferrets are a favourite animal of mine and I've long had a fascination for shiny things and flashing lights that generally canines don't have. Her colours and marking scheme took me ages to figure out but I'm very happy with what I have and I hope to keep her design solid for more than the two years a design seems to last with me. She is also a polymorph, meaning she can change her size, or her species at will. She regularly shifts into a feral form, a miniature form, and various different species a her will.
Misty's personality is, of course, a lot like mine. She has her bouncy excited moments, her snuggly warm moments, and even moments where she's not very civil and pleasant. Generally she's friendly towards other furs unless they have a need for an attitude adjustment, and admittedly avoids the stereotypical teenybopper types. Misty is particularly interested in other fur artists, or of course any fur that shares similar interests. She can be cynical and pessimistic and has a somewhat sarcastic sense of humour but when in the right mood (or on a sugar high) she can be very energetic and wacky, almost to the point of being outgoing. Misty doesn't like to share her feelings, and will retreat inside herself if she's having a depressed day. She can be defensive and angry if pressed on anything she doesn't want to do and will make it clear when she doesn't like someone or something. With some furs she can take a while to open up to but she is generally a worthwhile acquaintance and tries her best to be a good friend.
